  • Designer/Drafter

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    This position prepares detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information and will directly support MFE’s with test fixture and design checking and drawing using Pro-E. This person is responsible for completing detailed drawings and diagrams for assigned projects. These drawings will include all necessary engineering information to complete the project. Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards and issues. Deal with engineering team on problems and request as directed by supervisor to ensure that continuous improvement in quality and cost. Ensure communication with Supervisor or Project Manager when change in project status occurs and other duties as assigned or required by the customer.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create PRO-E and Solid Works drawings in support of Tucson MFE’s and Australian R&D Engineers
    • Create fixture design and drawings for PCA test boxes, existing fixtures and future design updates
    • Work closely with Project Managers and MFE’s to provide technical assistance on design issues

    SKILL SETS AND PLATFORMS

    • 2 + years relevant, recent and stable work history in PRO-E modeling, mechanical drawing checking, GD&T
    • Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of SolidWorks
    • Degree or equivalent experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Good teaming and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability function well within a team and contribute to objectives with minimal supervision
  • Electrical Engineer w/Packaging Design Experience

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3 years experience in the development and test of embedded hardware and servo controls. The candidate must be experienced in; the design, packaging design, modify and maintain existing products, analysis, documentation, and production of electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Experience with the design and test of hardware compliant to military specifications is a plus.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for new design, fabrication and support of complex electrical designs including DSP controllers, digital servo control systems.
    • Responsible for customer and manufacturing support of electrical designs
    • Ability to design new products and modify/maintain existing products to meet and exceed customer expectations
    • Proven ability to trouble shoot and solve production problems with existing products, as well as resolve field problems experienced by customers
    • Ability to assess the challenges and needs of the product development to determine action plan and tasks to be completed
    • Ability to assign technical tasks to inside and outside persons and effectively manage their execution
    • Ability to make decisions independently or in a team environment to work through the process and reach a positive end result
    • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments and customers both written and verbal and have technical knowledge and confidence to guide internal and external audiences through problem resolution

    SKILL SETS AND PLATFORMS REQUIRED

    • Digital design using TI DSP’s, Microchip microcontrollers
    • High power FET motor amplifier design
    • Ability to program embedded software in C
    • Ability to work with mechanical and software engineer in a seamless team. Analog and digital circuit design skills related to video display technologies. Microprocessor and programmable logic experience is a plus
    • Electronic CAD skills such as schematic entry and PCB layout design Electronic troubleshooting and testing skills.
    • Familiarity with timing requirement, testing and installation practices
    • Product specification writing and drawing skills related to component procurement and new product definition.
    • Familiarity with electronic component supply infrastructure and purchasing practices
    • Electronic packaging design skills including wiring, PCB assemblies and small-case industrial equipment design
    • Electronic bench skills such as soldering, cable making, device programming and breadboard construction
    • Familiarity with optical light measurements and related equipment such as spot photometers and luminance meters
    • Working knowledge and experience with military equipment test specifications and procedures.

    BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Degree required or Equivalent Experience and recent, relevant, verifiable, stable work history.
  • Reliability Engineer

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION

    This position requires moderately complex tasks to develop and implement internal reliability standards for electronic & optical components and systems. Assist in developing, applying, and maintain quality requirements for processing components and other materials into finished goods and products. Designs and implements methods and procedures for testing and inspecting the quality level of products and equipment to ensure the product meets predicted reliability goals. Recommends corrective action for procedural, product, or process deficiencies, analyzes reports and returned products and recommends corrective action.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Works with Engineering developing mathematical models for MTBF and MTBSA of systems and sub-assemblies
    • Evaluates the properties, techniques, and materials used in production
    • Manages process for failure reporting, failure mode and effects analysis, and corrective action
    • May assist in establishing testing procedures for the physical testing of the system and analyzes results to eliminate failure modes
    • Prepares recommendations for design engineers on the selection and application of new and existing electronic components
    • Review supporting manufacturing documentation to ensure it contains the necessary provisions to permit effective materials inspection and testing.

    SKILL SETS & PLATFORMS

    • 3 + years relevant, recent and stable work history in reliability engineering
    • Requires a understanding of the principles of performance evaluation and prediction to improve product/systems safety, reliability and maintainability

  • Software Engineer

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION

    EOST has an opening for a software engineer in its military product development group. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 years experience in the development and test of embedded software systems. The candidate should be experienced in: the design, analysis, documentation and test of embedded software systems; strong experience with the design and test of software that is compliant to military specifications. This position requires strong problem solving skills, creativity, and the ability to function as a strong contributor in a small highly motivated team.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design, analysis, documentation and test of MIL SPEC-compliant embedded software systems
    • Identifying, investigating, tracking and prioritizing software defects objectives
    • Utilize prior testing and quality assurance experience in design, documentation and execution of test plans
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven track record to write clear, concise documentation

    SKILL SETS & PLATFORMS

    • Embedded software systems, technical manufacturing industry experience
    • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with other engineering staff
    • Demonstrated ability to function well within a team and contribute to documentation and execution of test plans
    • Proven experience in a formal product development environment as a developer and test engineer; verifiable experience as an Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer with the following recent skill sets: C/C++, real-time operating systems, multi-threaded design, embedded software development
    • Must have strong ability to design, code, integrate, document, and verify embedded software and firmware
    • Must have strong experience in analysis of system and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
    • Must have solid experience in the development of software system testing procedures, programming, documentation and networking protocols

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
