Electro Optic Fire Control System (EFCS)
The Electro-optic Fire Control System (EFCS) is a surveillance and fire
control system optimized for land and naval applications. It provides fire
control for missiles, multiple weapons of different caliber, and combinations
of both missiles and cannon on a single platform.

In standard form, the EFCS sensor array consists of a x27 zoom day camera,
night ICCD, and the FCS Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder, as well as a range of
environmental sensors.
EFCS computes a full ballistic solution, taking into account weapon and
ammunition characteristics, target range, azimuth track of the target, and
an array of environmental parameters. FCS can design ballistic software for
aimpoint prediction for any caliber weapon or control and tasking software
for missile systems.
As part of its long running program with the US Navy that commenced in 1996,
FCS upgraded the EFCS fitted to the MK96 weapon station, as part of the 1999 rework.
Under this configuration, EFCS operates with 25mm, 30mm and 35mm cannon; 40mm grenade launcher; and interfaces with Stinger Missile control systems.
For this application, EFCS is used with a video tracker to control the
stabilized platform with an operator located on the mount. EFCS and the
video tracker control the traverse and elevation of the various weapon combinations.
