Robotic Observatory Control System

The Robotic Observatory Control System (ROCS) is EOST’s third generation observatory control software. ROCS has flexible configuration capabilities, providing truly autonomous robotic observatory operation.

The ‘robotic observer’ can control the operation of the observatory, completing set tasks. It is also capable of performing routine calibration and maintenance operations at specified intervals. Coupled with the ROCS scheduler, the robotic observer can obtain observation requests and complete them automatically. Also, the robotic observer monitors the operation of the telescope and the environmental conditions to ensure the optimum quality of observations.

Our observatory software provides complete control of all observatory functions

Standard Features:
  • Robotic operation
  • Scheduling of observation requests
  • Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and digital certificates for remote user authentication
Automatic Offset Autoguider

The EOST automatic offset autoguider is designed to obtain the maximum tracking performance from research grade astronomical telescopes.

The autoguider may be used independently, or with the Robotic Observatory Control System (ROCS). When used with ROCS, the autoguider is capable of being robotically controlled for unattended target observation.

Standard Features:
  • Offset operation
  • Full field or sub-region image capture
  • Remote operation
  • Adjustable correction rates
  • Automatic calibration and adjustment
  • Guide star specification
  • Performance monitoring
  • Obscuration and focus mapping
  • Track recording
