2 Meter Telescopes:

Advances in instrumentation, adaptive optics and optical Interferometry have opened many new applications for 2 meter class telescopes. The success of the 1 meter class telescope serial production has led to the new 2 meter class telescopes. For wide-field and general purpose astronomy (Coude and Nasmyth) we have a 2m 'MAGNUM' class telescope, and for interferometric work the 1.8m 'Keck' class telescope with Coude light path. EOST has delievered the 2m Magnum telescope which sits in the Lure Observatory in Maui on Mt. Haleakala as well as the Indian Institute of Astrophysics 2m telescope which is also operational at the Hanle sit in the high Himalayas.
