Optical applications often require deployment of valuable telescopes and optical sensors in remote or harsh environments. At the same time, efficiency requires automated operation and advanced seeing control strategies for optimizing instrument performance.

The Typhoon dome is a 2-axis weatherproof (optionally dustproof) dome designed for unattended operations in harsh environments. It can support traditional (ventilated) seeing control, or effectively allow full thermal control of the telescope. Typhoon domes use an extended hemisphere construction to provide unprecedented strength, and are designed and manufactured to international quality standards using high strength composites.
